To: Green Ridge Students and Parents
It is with excitement and sadness that I am sharing my news of my retirement from education after 21 years. While I am excited to explore my new adventure as I move into the corporate world where I will be educating adults, I will miss the Green Ridge Community very much.
All of you embraced me so warmly four years ago, and I can’t imagine a better place than Green Ridge. The students, parents, and staff have created a place that feels more like family than a school. As I have seen the students grow academically, emotionally, and socially, I have been so proud of their accomplishments, and I have loved all of the hugs that each one has given me every day. One of the hardest parts of leaving is that I will not see the students’ smiles each day, but know that I will always hold a special place in my heart for each of you.
My next adventure is in the field of technology, which is a passion of mine. I will be training adults and creating the materials that go with the technology. In fact, I will be teaching again, which I have never stopped loving to do.
Since my new position is not far from here, I will still be in the area, and I hope to see Green Ridge students out and about. If you see me, please come up and say hello. Also, I plan on coming back in the fall to say goodbye to the students since I didn’t have the opportunity to do so.
As I told the students who were going to Winding Creek, Shaull, the middle schools, or to different schools in other districts, once a Green Ridge Gator always a Green Ridge Gator. I know that is how I feel even as I am leaving.
As I sign off on my last newsletter, please know that I will never forget my wonderful years at Green Ridge Elementary!
Till I see you again!
Sincerely,
Amy Lena
