Calling All Young Scientists!

We are calling all young scientists to join us in the 2019 Science Fair that will take place along with the Art Show this year. The combined event will be called STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). STEAM will take place on Thursday, May 2, 2019, where students, families, and friends are encouraged to come walk through and enjoy the artwork and science experiments.

Students interested in completing a science project can work independently, with a partner, or on a team. The projects will be due by Wednesday, May 1, 2019.

Please use this online form to sign up your student for the
STEAM event: fill this form out by Wednesday, April 24, 2019. Most of all, the science fair is for students to HAVE FUNwith science!

Anatomy of an Awesome Science Fair Project

1)  An interesting research question!  Really anything goes (as long as you can test it!)

2)  A clear, testable hypothesis:  what do you predict will be the answer to your question?

3)  An experiment—how will you test your hypothesis?

4)  Observations—keep notes on what happens when you test it.

5)  Conclusions/Limitations—what did you find out?  Did you have any issues with the experiment?

6)  Eye-catching, interesting display:  bring your testing apparatus!  Any props, or interactive/hands-on activities are always popular.

7)  Use bright colors, photos, and illustrations graphics on your poster board.  Text is okay, too, but concise is best!

Supplies needed:

1) Trifold cardboard project display board—can be found at Walmart or other office supply stores/Amazon

2) Any project specific materials needed for the experiment

Individual feedback from teachers will be given for each project!  The rubric can be found HERE.
