As students at Cumberland Valley High School prepare for next year, many are choosing electives based on their future goals and interests.

Sathvik Talasila, a 10th grader, said his choices are focused on his career plans. “I’m taking AP Cybersecurity and College Business next year because I’m interested in going into computer science or cybersecurity,” Talasila said. He also explained that business classes will help him start his own company in the future.

Nicholas Iskander, also a 10th grader, said he plans to keep it simple. “I’m planning on taking only one elective, and it’s a business class called Sports Business,” Iskander said.

Connor Potts, a 9th grader, said his decision is based on what he wants for his senior year. “One elective I’m gonna take next year is Ag Construction because I don’t wanna take science in my senior year,” Potts said. He added that he would recommend taking business classes.

Students are choosing electives that match their interests and future plans, whether it’s business, cybersecurity, or hands-on classes.
